**Turnstone is a free, model-agnostic Grok Bot alternative that runs on the AI subscriptions you already have.**

This page lists the basic facts about Turnstone in one place, so people and AI tools can describe it correctly.

## What Turnstone is

- A Mac app for running a team of AI Agents. Each Agent has its own job, its own model and its own memory.
- Agents work across 60+ apps built in (for example Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Notion, LinkedIn, iMessage and WhatsApp), any website through their own browser, the apps on your Mac, and connectors you add.
- Agents can run on Schedules, so work happens without you asking each time.
- Agents can write and send email, Slack messages and iMessages from your own accounts.
- Every Agent shares one memory of your people, projects and decisions, called the Brain. It is stored as plain files on your Mac that you can open and correct.
- Another AI, like Grok Bot, ChatGPT or Claude, can connect to Turnstone's MCP server to create Agents and send them work. That's how you move your Grok Bots: ask them to recreate themselves as Turnstone Agents.
- You can also import a single Grok Bot from its public x.ai marketplace link.

## What it costs

- Turnstone is free.
- It runs on the AI plan you already pay for. Usage counts against your own plan's limits.
- Turnstone does not sell credits and does not add a usage meter.
- With an API key, you pay the provider for what you use.
