**Pick Grok Bot for a team of cloud Bots on every device from $30 a month, ChatGPT dots if you already pay for ChatGPT Pro and want one always-on agent with thousands of apps, and Muse for a free agent that shops and runs errands from your phone. We make Turnstone, a fourth option that runs a team of Agents on the ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok plan you already pay for.**

All three launched within seven weeks of each other in 2026. Grok Bot came first on August 11, Muse on September 8 and ChatGPT dots on September 29. Each runs in its maker's cloud, on AI its maker picks, billed by its maker. They differ on price, on how many agents you get, and on how much memory you can see. Everything below was checked on October 27 and 28, 2026.

## How much do Grok Bot, ChatGPT dots and Muse cost?

Muse is the cheapest to try. Its free tier has a weekly cap Meta doesn't publish, and you still need a Meta account and a payment card. Grok Bot starts at $30 a month and isn't on the Free or $8 Plus plans. Our [Grok Bot pricing guide](https://myturnstone.ai/blog/grok-bot-pricing) covers every plan. Dots is the most expensive way in, from $100 a month. None of the three can use an AI plan you already pay for elsewhere.

## Grok Bot vs ChatGPT dots

Both run on a cloud computer that keeps working when your laptop is closed. The big difference is how many agents you get for the money. Grok Bot gives you many named Bots from $30 a month, and they can work together in group chats. Dots gives you one dot from $100 a month, and teams of dots are only planned.

Dots has the bigger app list, with over 4,000 apps through plugins. It works inside Slack and Microsoft Teams, takes voice calls, and does background research in your apps to find work you didn't ask for.

Grok Bot has more ways to start work. Routines run on schedules or on triggers from Slack, GitHub, Linear, email and webhooks. You can teach it a task by recording up to 10 minutes of browser work, and there is a public Marketplace of Bot templates.

Neither lets you choose the model, and neither has a screen where you can browse and fix what it knows.

## Grok Bot vs Muse

These are built for different jobs. Grok Bot leans toward work, with templates for sales, recruiting, marketing and engineering. Muse leans toward everyday life. Meta says shopping is its top use, and it pays with Link one-time card numbers covered by Link's purchase protections, plus Shop Pay and PayPal.

Muse is free to start. Grok Bot only has a trial credit with a 7-day window, and xAI says one big task can use all of it.

Muse gives you one agent with side chats. Grok Bot gives you many Bots, but they all share one cloud computer, and xAI says separate Bots are "not separate security boundaries."

Muse lets you open MEMORY.md and browse its system files. Grok Bot has no memory screen at all. But Muse's privacy policy says it "may still 'remember' information" after you delete it.

## ChatGPT dots vs Muse

Both give you one agent in the cloud. The price gap is huge. Muse is free, $20 or $100 a month. A dot needs a plan from $100.

Dots is the stronger work tool, with 4,000+ plugins, Slack, Microsoft Teams and background research. Muse is the stronger errand tool, with retail partners, protected checkout and a WhatsApp chat.

Muse shows more of what it remembers. With dots, OpenAI says you "cannot view, delete, or directly modify individual dot memories." The only option is Reset, which deletes the dot.

On training, Muse's training setting "is on when you first use Muse," and you can turn it off in Data controls. On personal ChatGPT plans, the "Improve the model for everyone" setting covers your dot's chats and actions.

## Where Turnstone fits

We make Turnstone. It's a free, model-agnostic Grok Bot alternative that runs on the AI subscriptions you already have, which none of the three above can do.

It runs on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Cursor, OpenRouter, Ollama for local models, or your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key. Each Agent has its own model, and you can switch it mid-chat. For ChatGPT and Claude plans, Turnstone runs the official Codex and Claude Code apps on your Mac, and you sign in with your own account through the provider's own login. Usage counts against your own plan's limits. Turnstone doesn't add credits or a meter.

You get a team of AI Agents that work across 60+ apps built in, like Gmail, Slack, Notion, iMessage and WhatsApp, plus any website, the apps on your Mac and connectors you add. They run on Schedules and can send email, Slack messages and iMessages from your own accounts. All your Agents share one memory you can open and correct. You can also import a Grok Bot from its public x.ai link.

The trade-offs: Turnstone is Mac only today, with no Windows, Linux or Android app. Cloud, the iPhone app and the web app are coming soon. If you need an agent that works with your laptop closed right now, all three rivals beat it. And your AI plan's limits still apply.

## Which one should you pick?

**Pick Grok Bot if:**
- You want several named Bots that work together in the cloud.
- You use Windows, Linux or Android, or want an iPad app.
- You already pay for Cursor or SuperGrok, so it costs nothing extra.

**Pick ChatGPT dots if:**
- You already pay for ChatGPT Pro or Business Premium.
- Your team works in Slack or Microsoft Teams.
- You want an agent that looks for work in your apps without being asked.

**Pick Muse if:**
- You don't pay for any AI plan and want to start free.
- Your main jobs are shopping, travel and bookings, with protected checkout.
- You want to reach your agent on an Android phone or in WhatsApp.

**Pick Turnstone if:**
- You already pay for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok, want to pick the model, and don't want a second AI bill.
- You want one memory you can open and correct, shared by a team of Agents.
- You work on a Mac and want Agents that send from your own email, Slack and iMessage.

## Questions

**Which is better, Grok Bot or ChatGPT dots?**
Grok Bot gives you many Bots from $30 a month. Dots gives you one agent from $100 a month, with more apps and a home in Slack and Teams. If you already have ChatGPT Pro, try dots first.

**Is Muse free?**
Yes, up to a weekly limit that Meta doesn't publish. You still need a Meta account and a payment card. Power is $20 a month and Maximum is $100.

**Can I get ChatGPT dots on ChatGPT Plus?**
No. OpenAI's pricing page lists dots under Pro only, and Business Premium also includes one. It isn't on Free, Go or Plus.

**Which of these lets me choose the AI model?**
None of the three. Grok Bot picks a model for you, dots runs GPT-6 Astra and Muse runs Muse Spark. Turnstone lets you pick ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and more for each Agent.

**Which one lets me see what it remembers?**
Muse comes closest, since you can open MEMORY.md and ask it to forget things. Grok Bot has no memory screen, and dots doesn't let you view single memories. Turnstone's shared memory is one you can open and correct.

**Do they keep working when my computer is off?**
Yes, all three run in their maker's cloud. Dots needs your computer on only for local tasks. Turnstone runs on your Mac today, and Cloud is coming soon.

**Can I use my ChatGPT or Claude plan with Grok Bot or Muse?**
No. Each bills its own usage. Turnstone is free and runs on the ChatGPT or Claude plan you already have.
